Position Summary

The IT Business Analyst's primary objective is to facilitate the implementation of cost-effective technology solutions by analyzing business and functional requirements and communicating them clearly to stakeholders. BA will review and document business processes and represent the interests of the business stakeholders to the IT team.

The individual will be working with an IT team that is responsible for implementing and supporting a complex ERP environment of interconnected systems. The position will act as a change agent to help facilitate process improvements, justification, prioritization, and deployment of modifications to current processes. BA will work closely with process owners, systems analysts, stakeholders, and IT team to transform business needs into user stories and other requirements documents. The role requires excellent communication skills with experience conducting meetings, making presentations, and documenting requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, organizes, and conducts business process reengineering projects and management reviews of company IT systems.
  • Serves as liaison between business stakeholders and the IT team to translate business needs into IT solutions.
  • Recommends solutions based on how well they meet the requirements of the stakeholders; each requirement is mapped to the solution components to guarantee the solution is the best fit for the organization.
  • Researches, gathers, and analyzes business, technology, and user requirements for IT projects while remaining objective and independent of the specific stakeholders.
  • Responsible for developing consensus among key stakeholders concerning the scope and requirements of a project; presents clear and accurate requirements to stakeholders, and ensures approval of the requirements by all stakeholders.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation, managing project scope, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following proper escalation paths, and managing customer relationships.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
Position Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Understanding of ERP system processes, including accounting, order processing, and inventory management, etc.
  • Prior experience eliciting and capturing requirements using various techniques, including but not limited to, user stories, use cases, data modeling, process flow modeling, screen mockups, and report mockups
  • Project management experience including time and resource management, financial planning, scope management, issue and risk management, and project execution
  • Experience working on large projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • ERP implementation experiences a plus but is not required
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite required
  • Experience with Visio and other flowcharting tools
