Electronic Access Control Technical Sales Representative

Responsible for increasing knowledge and comfort selling Hager Companies’ electronic access control products through; second phase HS4 training to HASP partners and HS4 users, making sales calls on behalf of Hager Companies to distributors, end users, owners, developers and other channel influencers, maximizing HS4 sales quota in assigned territory, providing technical support, and system consultation in order to increase Hager Companies’ share of access control products in the assigned territories. Collaborate with direct and indirect sales representatives, HS4 access control team, Architectural Sales Representatives, Hager pricing department and Hager customer service to ensure proper training and support are delivered for the access control product lines to Hager customers, distribution partners and other channel influencers in the specified territories. Leverage access control products to pull through Hager’s full line of hardware.

Essential Functions

  • Inspire end users, owners, developers, contractors, and other channel influencers that Hager’s electronic access control hardware and software offering exceed their needs and deliver opportunity to authorized distribution partners to pull through sales
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to educate distributors in the selected Southeast territories about Hager Companies’ electronic access control products
  • Identify the best electronic solutions for the customer’s and the projects requirements and support basic system design and BOM’s
  • Represent Hager alongside distributor partners at preconstruction and coordination meetings on a project by project basis
  • Travel in territories to meet customers and represent the company
  • Ability to work from a home office
  • Understand and use the Salesforce platform for reporting, collaborating, sales planning and quoting
  • Develop and review quotes, sales presentations and project documents for technical accuracy
  • Work with Hager training department to participate in the development and execution of training programs for HS4 users and HASP partners
  • Educate customers (distributors, contractors, developers, architects, and end-users) in lunch and learns and other training forums
  • Identify and communicate changing market conditions to Hager sales management
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in the field unsupervised while creating positive results for the territory
  • Assist with forecasting projections for electronic access control products
  • Provide support and feedback to Sales, Marketing, and Product Management as needed and as requested
  • Represent Hager Companies at trade shows as necessary
Position Qualification Requirements

Education/Knowledge: Requires an undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.) or a comparable equivalent of education and experience.

Experience: Prefer three years or more in a technical support role, including experience with low voltage and electro-mechanical access control products. Experience in a customer facing roles would be beneficial.

Skills: Must have solid communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills. The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines, to plan and implement sales call, coordinate details and prioritize workloads. Positive and enthusiastic team player with problem solving & decision-making abilities. Must be proficient with PC programs, including Microsoft Office. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of networking, locking hardware, and electronics as they relate to access control systems

Travel: Must be able to travel without restrictions throughout territories approximately 50 – 75% of the time

Physical Activities/Demands: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, plush pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15-20 pounds infrequently. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Preferred additional qualifications: Experience in a commercial building products and / or door hardware environment.
